How Does DTF Transfer Work?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfer is a versatile printing method that allows you to print designs onto a special transfer film and then apply them to garments using a heat press.

The basic process is:

1. Print the Design
Print your design onto DTF transfer film using a DTF printer and DTF ink. The printer prints the color layers and white ink onto the film.

2. Apply DTF Powder
While the printed ink is still wet, evenly apply DTF hot-melt adhesive powder to the printed area.

3. Cure the Powder
Heat the powder according to the recommended temperature and time until it melts and forms an even adhesive layer.

4. Heat Press
Place the finished DTF transfer onto the garment and heat press it using the recommended temperature, pressure, and time.

5. Peel the Film
Depending on the type of transfer film, peel it while hot or after it has cooled. Always follow the film manufacturer's recommended peeling instructions.

DTF transfers can be used for T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, tote bags, uniforms, and many other textile products. They are especially suitable for custom designs, small-batch orders, personalized apparel, and on-demand printing.
