What Is the Difference Between Screen Printing, DTG, and DTF?

Screen Printing, DTG (Direct-to-Garment), and DTF (Direct-to-Film) are three popular garment printing methods, but each has different advantages.

• Screen Printing: Ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto the garment. It offers excellent durability and is cost-effective for large-volume orders, but setup takes more time and it is less efficient for complex, multi-color designs or small orders.
• DTG: The design is printed directly onto the garment using a specialized inkjet printer. It provides excellent detail and is ideal for cotton garments and highly detailed, full-color designs, but it generally requires pre-treatment and works best on suitable fabrics.
• DTF: The design is printed onto a special transfer film, coated with adhesive powder, and then heat-pressed onto the garment. DTF works with a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends. It requires less setup and is particularly suitable for small orders, personalized products, and on-demand printing.
